Captain | David Kennedy | American

BIO: Meet Captain Dave Kennedy, the salty sea enthusiast who first dipped his toes into the world of sailing at the tender age of 5 in the picturesque waters on Nantucket. Little did he know that two decades later, the call of the sea would shape his life’s journey.

Having Captained five different vessels, Dave has sailed from the shores of Santa Cruz to the tropical embrace of St. Thomas, finally dropping anchor in the captivating harbor of Newport, Rhode Island. With a track record of 8 Atlantic crossings, split evenly between east and west, Dave has truly become a seasoned sailor, mastering the art of the open ocean.

From guiding sailing yachts to commanding the decks of luxurious 164’ yachts, Captain Dave has navigated his way through the waters of Italy, France, Croatia, Montenegro, Greece and Turkey. Despite his global adventures, the Bahamas hold a special place in his heart, offering the perfect backdrop for maritime escapades.

Beyond the compass and charts, Captain Dave is not just a skipper; he’s a laid-back, friendly sailor who enjoys connecting with guests, organizing exciting excursions, and sharing his love for the ocean. His goal? To ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience on the high seas, along with a chuckle or two.

During his downtime, Dave is known for his animal rescue missions across the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, and the mainland US. When the waves beckon, catch him on a longboard, riding the swells and soaking in the ever-changing panorama of the setting sun.

Embark on a seafaring adventure with Captain Dave, where each journey is seasoned with the tang of the sea, a pinch of humor, and a bounty of unforgettable moments on the open water – dad joked included!

Chef | Tory Martindale | American

BIO: With a contagious smile and boundless enthusiasm, Chef Tory brings over two decades of culinary expertise to every venture. Recently serving as a Private Chef and F&B Director for a financial corporation, Tory orchestrated catering for office, jet, helicopter, and yacht events. His responsibilities extended to overseeing the wine cellar program and cigar library.

Prior to this role, Tory played a pivotal role in developing food concepts and collaborated with the restaurant group 88 Napkins to launch culinary destinations across Florida and the USA. A veteran of Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts for 24 years, Tory showcased his culinary prowess in diverse locations such as Dublin, Nevis, Santa Barbara, and Vancouver. Notably, he contributed to the repositioning and renovation of the Four Seasons Palm Beach’s food and beverage offerings in 2018.

Beyond his culinary achievements, Tory actively supports chief-driven charities like “No Kid Hungry” and “Pie It Forward,” solidifying his presence in the local chef community. Inspired by his Vancouver training, where diverse Asian cultures influenced his culinary journey, Tory describes the restaurant industry as a fast-paced sport intertwined with ballet in a battle zone.

For Tory, food is an art form engaging all senses, blending top-notch technique with thoughtful, intriguing flavor combinations. His culinary philosophy revolves around creating memorable dining experiences, often drawing from a vast library of flavors, combinations, techniques and plating concepts.

“I love to create dishes by mixing different cultural pinpoints of flavor and style. A chef’s mind in a giant library of flavors, combinations, techniques and plating concepts. Whenever I build a dish, it’s like flipping through a massive directory and finding the nuances that may connect one item to another and then synergizing it all into what you are creating at the moment.”

Tory attributes his success to a creative, talented, and experienced team, fostering a kitchen culture that encourages ideas, open communication, and positive attitudes. Beyond the kitchen, Tory tends to his garden, enjoys cooking for family and friends, including his wife and adult daughter. His creative pursuits extend to lamp work, glass blowing and crafting chef knives.

Engineer | Alyssa Raymond | American

BIO: Meet Alyssa from lil’Rhody, the fearless yacht enthusiast with a knack for turning career detours into high-seas adventures. Hailing from the Ocean State, she swapped the stethoscope for the deck shoes after a brief stint as a hearing specialist. Yes, she’s the short one with hearing aids – a sailor with a flair for breaking stereotypes.

Alyssa rolled the dice on a super yachting internship in Newport, RI, and lo and behold, she’s been riding the waves ever since. From 6-month escapades in the West Indies, tackling deliveries, daywork, and provisioning, to sailing from Antigua to Newport (because, why not?), she’s amassed tales that could fill a maritime comedy special.

After a four-year stint as the mate on her last boat, Alyssa not only perfected her sea legs but also managed to find sidekicks in the form of Dave and Haley. Together, they navigated The Bahamas, turning the ocean into their playground.

When she’s not chartering courses, Alyssa loves to laugh, embark on spontaneous adventures, and life some serious weights – because why not be both salty and swole? Her future goal? Captaincy, of course. So, buckle up for a journey with Alyssa – where laughter in the compass, the beach is the destination, and a good time is the only itinerary.

Note: This is the Owner’s chosen crew. Under the USCG Bareboat terms, the Charterer has the option to hire the same crew or other crew pending approval by flag and insurance.
