The world’s greatest circus event whose “Clown d’Or” awards are looked upon as a supreme distinction in the field.

 

The International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, known as Festival International du Cirque de Monte-Carlo in French, is an annual festival held since 1974 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

 

The festival includes the awarding of the Clown d'Or (Golden Clown) award as well as awards for other circus skills. A permanent venue, the Chapiteau (circus tent) de Fontvieille, was built especially for this festival. The festival is held in late January or early February.

The Monte Carlo Rally or Rallye Monte Carlo (officially Rallye Automobile Monte Carlo) is a rallying event organized each year by the Automobile Club de Monaco which also organizes the Formula One Monaco Grand Prix and the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique. The rally now takes place along the French Riviera in the Principality of Monaco and southeast France. Previously, competitors would set off from all four corners of Europe and ‘rally’, in other words, meet, in Monaco to celebrate the end of a unique event. From its inception in 1911 by Prince Albert I it was an important means of demonstrating improvements and innovations to automobiles.

The Rose Ball was created by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1954. It is organized every year in March by the Monte-Carlo SBM Group in the prestigious Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo.

 

This exceptional event brings together the elite and international high society for the first important social event of the year. For just one evening, it bathes the Principality in splendor and lights, plunging it in an ambiance of radiance and festivity.

 

Currently presided by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince Albert II and H.R.H. One of the year's most exciting cultural events, Monaco's annual Spring Arts Festival, brings talented artists from around the globe to entertain guests with art, music, theater and dance at venues throughout the Principality. Also featured are performances by the world-renowned Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra and Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo.

 

The Spring Arts Festival confirmed a multiplicity of styles spanning the 11th to the 21st centuries, a new way of experiencing music both through themes and locations, an increasingly greater openness to a younger audience, and collaboration and with some of Monaco's largest institutions.

5) Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters | April

The Monte-Carlo Masters is an annual tennis tournament for male professional players held in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, France, a commune that borders on Monaco. The event is part of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. The tournament is played on clay courts and is held every year in the April–May period.

 

The Monte Carlo tennis championship was first held in 1897. It became an "Open" event in 1969. From 1970 through 1972 and from 1978 through 1989 it was a major tournament of the Grand Prix Tour as part of the Grand Prix Super Series top tier events. In 1973 the tournament was part of the Rothmans Spring Mediterranean Circuit. From 1974 through 1977 the tournament was part of the World Championship Tennis (WCT) circuit. In 1990 it became an ATP Championship Series Single Week tennis event.

 

Beginning in 2009, Monte Carlo became the only ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament not to have a mandatory player commitment. Most of the top players still elect to play the event despite this status.

The circuit has been called "an exceptional location of glamour and prestige".
