Captain: Grzegorz Kotlęga
Grzegorz is a dedicated and professional yacht captain with over a decade of sailing experience. Raised in northern Poland, he began sailing at age 10 and quickly developed a strong passion for life at sea and yacht maintenance. He holds an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore license along with multiple Polish sailing and powerboat captain certifications.
As the captain of Ankawer VI, Grzegorz brings a wealth of experience from his work across the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and U.S. East Coast aboard Bali, Lagoon, Sunreef, and Azimut yachts. He is known for his calm leadership, technical skills, and guest-focused approach that ensures smooth and safe voyages.
Beyond sailing, Grzegorz enjoys mountain climbing, mechanics, and water sports. Friendly, organized, and always eager to share his passion, he creates a welcoming and professional atmosphere on board Ankawer VI.
Chef: Richard Meyniel
Internationally trained Executive Chef with over 30 years of experience, including in Michelin-starred kitchens such as L’Arpège, L’Oasis, and Lenôtre. A creative and disciplined professional, Richard combines culinary excellence with deep knowledge of fine dining, bistronomic cuisine, and bespoke menu creation.
Richard has led kitchens and owned restaurants across Europe, Africa, the Caribbean, and Australia. He is an expert in dietary accommodations, high-level service etiquette, and discreetly catering to elite and VIP clientele. His extensive yachting and private chef experience includes operating in remote and seasonal locations, showcasing exceptional autonomy and efficiency in compact yacht galleys.
Fluent in French, English, and Spanish (with conversational Arabic), Richard brings a multicultural flair and passion to his craft, always focusing on creating memorable dining experiences at sea or ashore.
Stewardess: Marivic Madring
A highly adaptable and service-oriented stewardess with a background in hospitality and yachting. Marivic brings experience both at sea and ashore, having served on a motor yacht in the Philippines as a stewardess and deckhand (2023–2024) as well as working in hotels and restaurants in various roles, including front desk receptionist, sous chef, and waitress.
Her strong interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and proactive attitude make her a valued team member who ensures guests feel welcome and cared for. Marivic is trained and certified in STCW, ENG1, yacht hospitality, elementary first aid, fire safety, and other key maritime skills.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism Management and a solid foundation in guest relations, she excels at delivering seamless and memorable onboard experiences with professionalism and a positive spirit.
Deckhand: Brian Niel Jompilla
Brian is a hardworking and physically fit individual. He is actively seeking a Deckhand position where he can contribute his strong maritime skills, solid safety awareness, and a team-oriented attitude. He brings a proactive approach to vessel operations, maintenance, and navigation assistance, ensuring that daily routines at sea are carried out smoothly and efficiently.
Known for his reliability and resilience in demanding environments, he is committed to upholding the highest safety standards and operational protocols on board. With a strong work ethic and hands-on experience, he thrives in collaborative settings and is always ready to support the crew with both routine tasks and unexpected challenges. His goal is to be a dependable asset to any vessel, contributing to its safe, productive, and professional operation.
