Follow the footsteps of famous Africa Explorers and explore West Africa. The Rivers of West Africa program operates from Dakar-Senegal. Your vessel will sail upstream, at a leisurerly pace, with stops in fishing villages or commercial towns along the Atlantic Ocean or a smuch as 240 miles upstream the Gambia River. Your daily excursions will bring in the heart of this fascinating land with its colourful fauna and flaura.
THE M/Y PEGASUS
The twin-hulled Pegasus, built in 1992, completely refitted in 1997 and renovated in the winter of 2009-10 accommodates up to 49 guests in a relaxed, congenial atmosphere.
On board you will enjoy magnificent sea views as you stroll our 2,550 square feet/ 240 m2 of open deck. You can relax with friends in the handsomely appointed lounge, browse in the well-stocked library or enjoy ocean-view dining in the convivial and spacious restaurant area.
A platform on Pegasus stern enables you to swim when weather and anchorage conditions permit.

8 day Africa Rivers cruise aboard
the M/Y PEGASUS
AFRICA CRUISE ITINERARY
Day 1: DAKAR
Embarkation and sailing south to Saloun Delta.
Day 2: SALOUN RIVER - DJIFFERE
Entering the Saloun River to reach Djiffere. From Djiffere we will reach the colourful village of Joal Fadiout, a fishing village built with shells. In the afternoon enter Gambia River and reach Banjul. Later in the evening and during the night we sail upstream to Tendaba. Overnight on the river.
Day 3: TENDABA
Kiang West National Park & Baobolong Reserve. Overnight in Tendaba.
Day 4: GAMBIA RIVER KUNTAUR
All day sailing on Gambia River to Kuntaur. The river gets narrower and twisting, with lush vegetation and you will see amazing wildlife. Early afternoon arrival in Kuntaur. Overnight in Kuntaur
Day 5: KUNTAUR
Today, you will board motor pirogues and reach the River Gambia National Park made of 5 islands and later reach the picturesque town of Janjangbureh. Overnight in Kuntaur.
Day 6: KUNTAUR GAMBIA RIVER
We leave Kuntaur in the morning and sail down the river to Banjul which we reach late at night. Overnight in Banjul.
Day 7: BANJUL
The capital city of Gambia. The day excursion will bring you to the nearby Nature Reserves of Abuko and Makasutu and will also include a visit to the National Museum. Overnight at sea to Dakar.
Day 8: DAKAR
Disembarkation in the morning.
